Curriculum

The MS in Hospitality Management consists of 30 credit hours. Students have the option of completing a thesis or non-thesis track. Please note that courses are subject to change.

  • HSM 521: Hospitality Law and Risk Management
  • HSM 570: Leadership Hospitality and Sport
  • HSM 575: Sport and Hospitality Financial Management
  • HSM 576: Strategic Management in Hospitality Tourism
  • HSM 580: Consumer Behavior in Hospitality and Tourism
  • HSM 592: Special Topics in Hospitality
  • HSM 596: Seminar Hospitality Management

Academic Plans

  • Plan 1: Thesis Track (Select 1 or more courses from the approved electives list to complete the 30-credit hour requirement)
  • Plan II: Non-Thesis Track (24 credit hours and 6 Hours of Electives)

Admission

To be considered for admission, an applicant for the MS in Hospitality Management must have the following:

  • One of the following:
    • 3.0/4.0 GPA
    • 3.0 GPA on last 60 hours
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose (Include in the Header: Hospitality Management). Students should also include in their statement why they have chosen this area of study and how it will apply to their personal and/or professional goals.
