The University of Alabama is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, education specialist and doctoral degrees. SACSCOC is the regional body for accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
Schools that earn SACSCOC accreditation are also recognized as learning institutions by the state board of education. Therefore, a diploma from a SACSCOC-accredited school would surpass the minimum requirements for admission into an institution of higher learning. Because of this accreditation, your credits and degree from The University of Alabama can transfer easily to any other accredited institution and give you access to a broader range of loans and scholarships.
