Advance Your Career in Kinesiology
The online MA in Kinesiology (Physical Education Certification) prepares practicing P-12 educators to become leaders in physical education. Through advanced coursework in curriculum development, instructional strategies, assessment, educational research and technology integration, you’ll learn to design and evaluate evidence-based instruction that supports student success.
You’ll also develop the skills to use data to improve your teaching, respond to the needs of all learners and promote equitable physical education practices. Designed with working educators in mind, the program is offered 100% online, allowing you to continue making an impact in your classroom while earning an advanced degree and working toward Class A certification.

Admission
Admission to the MA in Kinesiology (Physical Education Certification) degree program requires the following:
- A valid bachelor’s-level professional educator certificate in Physical Education
- Unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended – The Graduate School allows unofficial transcripts to be submitted for the application, and official transcripts are required if admitted.
- For regular admission, an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall, a 3.0 or higher in a completed graduate degree program
- Statement of purpose
- Completed UA Graduate School application
- Completed requirements for fingerprinting/background clearance
- Three letters of recommendation
- Recommendations must be from current and former professors and/or supervisory personnel knowledgeable of the applicant’s academic and professional capabilities for all College of Education programs that lead to professional certification.
Applications are accepted each semester. Students may begin the program in the fall, spring or summer semester.
