Program Overview
The graduate certificate in Instructional Technology offers students the opportunity to learn essential instructional design and technology skills in a convenient 100% online format. You will gain a comprehensive range of knowledge that will position you for diverse career opportunities across industry sectors including K-12 and higher education, government, military, human resources and business. This program not only equips you with the necessary skills to integrate technology effectively, but also prepares you to meet the evolving demands of the digital age, positioning you as an asset for current and future employers.

Design Your Future
The program is 100% online and designed to help you advance or pivot your career through just 15 credit hours of online coursework. Six mandatory credit hours equip you with essential skills for conceiving, executing and assessing online or electronic projects. To further tailor your educational journey, the remaining 9 credit hours offer a wide range of elective courses. These electives provide you with the flexibility to chart your own path and focus on areas that align with your career goals and aspirations. The faculty is focused on building an inclusive learning environment that encourages you to grow professionally, fosters critical thinking and strengthens your skills to ensure you’re prepared for your next steps.

Curriculum
The Graduate Certificate in Instructional Technology requires the completion of 15 credit hours. Students take two required courses and choose three electives. With approval of the Program Coordinator for Instructional Technology, AIL courses taken as part of a student’s existing program of study that meet the requirements of the certificate program will be accepted as credit towards the certificate. This program does not lead to certification or licensure.

Admission
Applicants must be students currently enrolled and in good standing in a master’s, specialist or doctoral degree program. Alternatively, students may hold a bachelor’s degree and have successfully completed 18 graduate credit hours in a teaching discipline or professional field.
The application will include the requested Graduate School materials and a statement of interest focusing on the student’s motivation for pursuing the certificate.
