New College LifeTrack at The University of Alabama is a liberal arts undergraduate degree program structured to allow you a great deal of flexibility in your curriculum through online classes, multiple academic paths and the opportunity to earn credit for past college-level coursework, training and life experience.

New College LifeTrack offers you an opportunity to earn your bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies. Following a broad curriculum, you can choose to earn either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) in one of four depth studies (Literature, Art and Society; Science, Technology and Culture; Community Studies; Leadership Studies) or you can design your own!

This innovative degree program for nontraditional students also allows you to earn credit for prior learning and life experience. Online coursework is an option, but travel and weekend in-person seminars are available as well.

Curriculum

LifeTrack offers you a well-rounded interdisciplinary educational opportunity. Rather than choosing a “major,” you choose an area of depth study based on what you want to learn. The areas of depth study are: Literature, Art and Society; Science, Technology and Culture; Community Studies; and Leadership Studies.
